AWS' Response to Award

12/2/2009

AWS is eager to serve as the SPOE for the children, families and providers in Cluster C. We will build from our experiences of providing SPOE services in Cluster E and in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area.

Founded in 1960, the mission of AWS is to help children and adults with disabilities live as independently as possible, be included in the community and function at their maximum potential.

AWS is a leading provider of services for people with disabilities, serving more than 7,000 infants, children and adults and employing over 2,100 people in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri and New Mexico. AWS provides a comprehensive array of services designed to enhance and sustain quality of life.

AWS will soon provide information and updates via email communication and this blog website: http://fsnei.blogspot.com/

Award Announcement

12/2/2009

AWS has been awarded the SPOE (system point of entry) contract from the State of Indiana for Cluster C (Allen, Adams, Huntington and Wells counties), beginning April 1, 2010. The SPOE provides the access point of entry for Early Intervention Services for children. First Steps is pleased to work with this agency in the Cluster C region, and looks forward to a continued, collaborative relationship to assist the children and families in Indiana Part C. Over the coming months, First Steps state staff, Achieva, and AWS have committed to coming together to develop planning activities and to establish a coordinated effort to ensure a seamless vendor transition. Additional communications will be forthcoming from AWS, so please look for further information regarding this transition, including some upcoming opportunities in the region to meet AWS staff.

First Steps has appreciated the ongoing support, enduring efforts, and level of commitment from Achieva staff in Cluster C over the past several years - their hard work has been meaningful to the community, as well as the state, and is truly recognized.
